The Implant:

This is a hormonal contraceptive. A small tube is implanted in the arm. The implant works by releasing progestogen (a hormone). This hormone stops ovulation, makes the cervix mucus too thick for the sperm to swim through and thins the lining of the womb so an egg can't implant.
The implant can prevent pregnancy but NOT STIs

Advantages:
Can be left in for up to 3 yrs
Don't have to worry about contraception while it's in
Fertility returns on removal
